The Saddleback Memorial Foundation and Saddleback Memorial’s Baby Alumni Club of Laguna Hills will hold the 7th annual “A Toast to Precious Souls” wine event at the Saddleback Memorial Medical Center on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The evening will raise money for the Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, which includes the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
During the evening, two NICU alumni families will be recognized for their help in organizing the 2012 Saddleback Memorial Corporate Golf Classic, which was held last summer and raised nearly $90,000 for the hospital. In addition, two Saddleback Memorial Medical Center registered nurses, one representing the NICU and the other representing Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post-Partum, will be honored with the “Nurse-of-the-Year” award. The award is given to nurses who have excelled in their service and commitment to the hospital and their patients.
“We were so grateful for the sincere, genuinely caring nature of everyone during our experience that we wanted to do something that would benefit the families in the future who would need these services,” said Michael Douglas, a father of quadruplets who were born in the NICU more than a year ago. David Bravo, a father of quintuplets who were also born near the end of 2011, said, “I can’t say enough about the doctors and nurses in the NICU, and the care they provide to families each and every day. We wanted to help the other families who go through this very intense experience.”
In addition to sampling wine, guests will also be served a variety of appetizers and have the chance to participate in an opportunity drawing and silent auction. The wine tasting event is $75 per person, and tickets may be purchased by contacting the Saddleback Memorial Foundation. More information on the event can be found here.
