![]() The $600,000 deal will greatly increase Iteris' reach in the United Arab Emirates, according to Iteris. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the emirate of the same name and is also the federal capital of the seven-emirate UAE. The traffic management technology company is teaming with TrafQuest – which also specializes in transportation – to create, with the goal of offering a more efficient, safe and integrated ITS infrastructure in the Emirates. Iteris will focus on the system's architecture, and TrafQuest will lead stakeholder consensus building, local coordination and management. The architecture of the project will be developed to guide the implementation of technologies and applications, and their impacts will also be assessed. The system will extend through all modes of transportation, including i-rail and river-borne systems and all major roadway networks within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
