SMS finished the first step of the certification process by having eight members of its management team complete the introductory TL 9000 course. This forms the groundwork for the program. The company is expected to gain full certification by March of next year.
The initiative growth program was revealed at the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council’s (WBENC) Women in Business conference: “The Bridge to Quality.” It stems directly from AT&T’s sponsorship of the Center of Women’s Business Research study and the center’s Washington, D.C., national symposium, “Accelerating the Growth of Businesses Owned by Women of Color.”
