The Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa has launched a new Facebook application, Segerstrom Center Social Tix, which patrons can use to purchase Center tickets directly through a personal Facebook page. The app is free of charge and allows users to plan trips to the Center with family and friends with calendar, seating, and event features.
Tickets can be purchased up until three hours prior to a show. Promo and priority codes can still be used for transactions.
In the future, the Segerstrom Center plans to add a “Select Your Own Seat” feature to the app, which patrons can use to locate where Facebook friends will be sitting for a performance, and choose their own seats accordingly.
“We are very excited to launch Social Tix just before we open our new season,” said Terrence W. Dwyer, president of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. “This is a great addition to our existing social media outlets for fans of the Center. We hope partons utilize this new application and make it their own. Social Tix keeps it easy, fun and engaging to plan visits to the Center.”
The Center is also presenting CenterTix, a free mobile application that allows theatergoers to virtually explore upcoming events by showcasing videos of the shows and artists. The app also allows patrons access to purchase tickets on the go. CenterTix can be purchased through Apple’s App Store to be used on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices.
