Sole Tech takes next step in European expansion plans
The Lake Forest-based firm will focus direct selling efforts in Germany for two of its popular brands.

Lake Forest-based Sole Technology is moving forward with its European expansion: The skateboard footwear maker plans to focus on its direct selling efforts in Germany for two of its popular brands, etnies and ThirtyTwo.
The company's work to develop its overseas operations began in 2006, when Sole Technology established its European headquarters in Amsterdam, Holland. The European arm runs direct distribution in the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark.
“Over the past three years, we’ve seen notable growth in our direct markets,” says Jan van Leeuwen, general manager of Sole Technology Europe.
He says the addition of Germany will allow the company to focus on strengthening and developing the brands, as well as the customer base.
