Irvine-based Local Corporation’s Spreebird Deals has been named as the “Best Shopping Mobile Application” in the Web Marketing Association’s 2012 Internet Advertising Competition Awards.

The company reports that almost 20 million users to date have redeemed a mobile coupon or deal in 2011 through Spreebird according to eMarketer, a research publisher in digital marketing, media and commerce data. That number is expected to double by 2013.
The Web Marketing Association hosts the Internet Advertising Competition Awards annually to showcase excellence in online advertising. Spreebird Deals was recognized for its creative design, impact and its user-friendly capability.
