St. Jude Medical Center’s fetes cancer patients at annual fashion show
“A Walk Among the Stars” raises funds for St. Jude’s Rehabilitation and Wellness program

Fullerton-based St. Jude Medical Center will hold its annual fashion show this weekend on Oct. 21. The event, themed “A Walk Among the Stars” and presented by the St. Jude Memorial Foundation, will feature cancer patients and survivors. Those involved are walking not only for cancer awareness, but to raise funds for the center’s Rehabilitation and Wellness Program, which gives physical and emotional support to cancer survivors.
One model, Ana de Perez, was treated at the medical center when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 32 and again at age 42. A mother of two, she gives the credit to her success through the series of treatments to her family, friends and the care at St. Jude. To regain her physical and emotional strength, Perez is also a part of the Rehabilitation and Wellness Program.
“St. Jude has really taken care of me,” she said. “I feel very blessed that when this happened to me, I was able to go to St. Jude. I feel that I’m here today because of them.”
“A Walk Among the Stars” has raised over $1 million in the past and all proceeds this year will go towards the Rehabilitation and Wellness program.
