St. Joseph Health System expands its virtual care
The Orange-based provider is adding a Web-based component to its Telehealth program.

Photo by forestpath – FotoliaOrange-based St. Joseph Health System is building upon its Telehealth pilot project with AT&T by teaming up with Phoenix-based Emerge.MD to provide patients with a Web-based platform for communicating with health-care professionals.
In February, St. Joseph Health System partnered with AT&T to offer Telehealth, a collaboration aimed at connecting patients and doctors through technology. With the Emerge.MD OnePlace program, medical professionals can deliver virtual care from any Internet device – whether it’s to a patient at home or a specialist at another facility.
“We are very excited to enter into this relationship with Emerge.MD, which will extend our ability to deliver high-quality health care to the communities we serve, with particular attention to addressing the needs of the underserved and vulnerable populations,” said Dr. Elliot Sternberg, executive vice president of wellness and health improvement at St. Joseph.
