St. Joseph Hospital Heart and Vascular Center in Orange has earned designation as a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care by Blue Cross/Blue Shield. This is particularly historic, as St. Joseph was the first Orange County hospital to provide cardiac care. It continues to lead the community with its services to adult and pediatric cardiac patients.

A Blue Distinction is awarded to centers that demonstrate an unwavering commitment to quality care, resulting in improved overall outcomes for cardiac patients. So far, just a little more than 400 hospitals in the country have received Blue Distinction for Cardiac Care honors.

“I am proud to recognize the clinical acumen of our physicians, dedicated nurses and support staff, and the entire Heart and Vascular Center for this exceptional effort,” says Kevin Lundon, vice president of operations, St. Joseph Hospital. “Special thanks go to Renee Mazeroll, RN, executive director of the Heart and Vascular Center, and our entire physician leadership team for their tireless pursuit of excellence.”
