St. Joseph Hospital’s tech-savvy gala raises $160,000
The money will benefit the medical center’s electronic health information system.

St. Joseph Hospital’s annual gala – Celebration 2010! – raised $160,000 to benefit the Orange-based medical center’s electronic health information system, while educating more than 600 guests on physician-patient technology improvements.
Held at the Anaheim Hilton, the event offered a variety of high-tech activities, including a question-and-answer session using electronic response devices. A reception featured flat-screen TVs, iPads and the motion-censored, hands-on computer Microsoft Surface.
“The support we received for the event this year was fantastic, and we’re excited about the changes ahead,” said Dr. Connie Bartlett, chairwoman of the event. “The money raised at this event will benefit our electronic health information system and will allow greater access and security for patients and our health-care team.”
Business leaders and physicians enjoyed entertainment from comedian Dick Hardwich and music from Dwight Kennedy’s Le Jazz Hot 12-piece band.
