![]() Ainsworth spent 16 of his 36 years in the health care administration field at the Orange-based medical center. During his tenure, Ainsworth made improvements in fiscal stewardship and was key in the addition of The Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, the first-of-its-kind in the county. Ainsworth is a "true leader" in the field, according to Joe Randolph, executive vice president and chief operating officer of St. Joseph Health System. "He has not only raised the standards of care for the Orange County community, but he has been an integral part of advocating for quality care for every member of our community including those who are at-risk and underserved,” he says. Under Ainsworth's leadership, St. Joseph Hospital achieved national recognition in orthopedic, cancer, cardiovascular and obstetrics care. In 2007, the hospital earned Magnet designation, the highest honor in nursing excellence.
