Larry Ainsworth plans to retire, continued ...
His focus on bedside care also led to the hospital’s achievement of “Healing Hospital Recognition” for three consecutive years by the Baptist Healing Trust.
Among Ainsworth's other efforts: He played an integral role in the development and implementation of the MediKids community outreach program. MediKids aims to ensure all children in Orange County have a medical home and emphasizes the importance of regular checkups and overall well-being practices.
Ainsworth says he is grateful for his time at the hospital, but he is looking forward to what's ahead.
“My wife, Laura, and I are excited about beginning a new chapter in our lives," he finishes, "but the people of St. Joseph Hospital and the community of Orange County will always have a special place in our hearts.”
Founded in 1929, St. Joseph Hospital has become one of the busiest surgical centers in the state and the busiest in the county. The institution's new Hybrid Operating Room, set to open next month, will be the first on the West Coast. The space will create real-time 3-D images of the cardiovascular system for surgeons by combining robotic technology and magnetic navigation.
