Sullen reports 51 percent growth for 2010

The Huntington Beach-based clothing brand hopes to cap the year with strong holiday sales.

The Huntington Beach-based art-driven clothing brand Sullen is expecting a strong holiday season after experiencing more than 51 percent in sales growth this year.

“Sullen Clothing is the medium for the best and brightest artists in the tattoo and urban genres to showcase their art on quality apparel,” said Ryan Smith, Sullen’s co-founder and creative director. “We are still first and foremost about art, creativity and family. That passion resonates with our customers, our collaborators, and the lifestyle we create together. That’s why we call it ‘true art,’ because we have stayed true to that vision.”

Company officials credit its growth this year to a number of strategic moves, including its international expansion; its move into the snowboard and moto segments; the launch of Sullen TV, an online viral series of videos; and the formation of a Sullen Art Collective aimed at forging relationships with tattoo artists and other creative minds in the underground art community.
