Taco Bell and @FeedtheBeat artists sign up to end world hunger

Concerts, twitter campaign support fundraising for hunger relief

Irvine-based Taco Bell, fast food chain of Yum! Brands, Inc., continues this year with their Feed The Beat artists to raise awareness and money to end world hunger.  From Oct. 4 to 18 Taco Bell is partnering with Feed The Beat artists to spread the word about World Hunger Relief (WHR) through 100 Taco Bell sponsored concerts.

Other than attending Feed the Beat concerts, fans can help the cause by replying with the word “donate” to @TacoBell World Hunger Relief on twitter or by their favorite Feed the Beat artists retweets. After doing so they will be sent a link to register and make their donations via Chirpify, the Twitter commerce and payment platform. All U.S. money raised will go directly to WHR to support the United Nation’s World Food Programme (WFP) to fight hunger worldwide.  WHR is the world’s largest private sector hunger relief effort benefiting WFP and other hunger relief agencies.

Since 2007, Yum! Brands has teamed up with WHR by working in more than 120 countries and in nearly 38,000 Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut locations. More than 1 million Yum! Brand employees, franchises and their families have volunteered millions of hours to aid WHR, WFP and other agencies. The effort has raised $115 million and is helping provide 460 million meals to save lives all over the world.
