Garden Grove-based Teletrac recently garnered the Fleet Van Technology Initiative of the Year award for its innovative Fleet Director 7 product.

The honor, which is sponsored by Fleet News Magazine, recognizes technological innovation and excellence, as well as the product’s impact on the fleet van industry.

The software operates by locating, tracking and monitoring the position and operation of vehicles, which gives managers unprecedented insight into fleet operations.

Fleet Director 7 received the award for a number of reasons, including its latest enhancements. Among them, SmartNav, a real-time navigation system that manages workflow between dispatchers and drivers; it gives turn-by-turn directions, which are shown on a full-color display map.
