Thanksgiving Day Dana Point Turkey Trot Some 12,000 individuals are expected to attend this year's Dana Point Turkey Trot 5K and 10K run-walk. Designed to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, the event will include Olympic medalists Dawn Harper and Torri Edwards, who both competed in track and field in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. They will be joined by former UCLA sprinter Craig Everhart, as well as the world’s fastest woman, Lashinda Demus, who recently set record-breaking times competing in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2009 World Outdoor Championships. The event also includes a kid-friendly Hot to Trot race and costume contest. Registration for all events is required.
