Orange County artist Lisa Ricondo is opening a new art gallery at The District at Tustin Legacy, the first such exhibition venue at the center. The District Art Gallery held a grand opening event on Friday. At home in the 1,000,000-square-foot shopping, dining and entertainment center, The District Art Gallery will be among such names as Panera Bread, Vans, Tilly’s, Sunglass Hut, and more.

“The District continues to evolve its tenant base around what the residents and community demand, allowing us to offer the latest trends and experiences at this popular shopping center,” said Kimberly Daskas, director of marking at The District at Tustin Legacy. “The District Art Gallery gives art enthusiasts, decorators and home owners in Orange County an exciting new resource when purchasing original paintings, as well as offers a unique space for artists and photographers to display and sell their work.”

The artwork of these local artists will be displayed in six-month rotating exhibition at The District Art Gallery. Additionally, Ricondo will hold “Meet the Artists” events every Saturday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where visitors may look around the gallery, purchase artwork, and get a chance to speak with the artists themselves.  From abstract expressionists to still life, from traditional brushwork to drip and poured medium, The District Art Gallery will feature a wide collection of artwork to the Orange County public.

“There is an astonishing lack of galleries in the Tustin/Irvine area and I want to bring art to the people here, helping create a sense of community for local residents,” said Ricondo, owner of The District Art Gallery. “The District already has unique boutique shops, delicious restaurants, and wonderful entertainment and I want to add a little art culture to the mix.”

The District Art Gallery is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays through Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The artist is available by appointment and may be reached at 424.645.4161.
