The Veggie Grill opening second O.C. location
The 2-year-old chain was just named 2008 Restaurant of the Year by VegNews magazine.

The Veggie Grill opened at University Center across from UC Irvine, just two years ago. Since then, the restaurant concept, which was created by Internet entrepreneur T.K Pillan, investment firm owner Kevin Boylan and restaurateur Ray White, has garnered a tremendous following.
Since then, a second location has opened in El Segundo and now the third will be opening at Irvine Spectrum Center on Friday, Nov. 21. In celebration of the grand opening, the Veggie Grill will be donating 20 percent of restaurant sales to the Irvine Public Schools Foundation from Nov. 21 through Nov. 23.
Veggie Grill’s menu offers satisfying, classic American fare – sandwiches, burgers, salads and desserts – with a unique twist: everything is vegetarian.
The “meat” products on the menu have as much flavor, texture and substance as their traditional counterparts, but they do not contain any animal products, trans-fats, cholesterol, high-fructose corn syrup or other harmful ingredients.
“People are shocked by the amazing flavor of our food,” says Pillan. “We look forward to sharing our wholesome, savory specialties with the rest of Orange County.”
