The short film, “Tidepool Scene,” produced in conjunction with Barnstormer Productions, the Laguna Ocean Foundation and the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau, won a Bronze Telly in the Education category at the 30th Annual Telly Awards in the Film/Video division. The film has already won an Emmy for Children’s Programming.
“We are thrilled that the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau was asked to be a part of this educational endeavor by the Laguna Ocean Foundation,” says Judy Bijlani, executive director of the Laguna Beach Visitors Bureau. “It accomplishes many goals, particularly highlighting the importance of our tide pools and the protection of them, and it allowed us to showcase one of Laguna Beach's most valuable resources Jeffrey Lehmann’s captivating footage, generously donated to the project, made it all possible,”
The 7-minute film was developed to educate children and adults on the importance of protecting our exceptional natural resource, the tide pools of Laguna Beach. The feature short plays on in-room channels of local hotels, is distributed to schools prior to their field trips to Laguna Beach, is showcased on multiple Web sites and has aired on regional cable television.
