Oasis of the Seas

By Susan BelknappPublished: February 01, 2010

If you’re looking for a vacation that offers luxury and activity, spa treatments and top-notch dining, entertainment and variety, nightlife and tropical locales, your dream destination has just been launched in one huge package.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship ever built, set sail in December as the company’s flagship. It was painstakingly designed to offer the epitome of full-service, comprehensive travel.

“The Oasis of the Seas represents a whole new dimension in travel,” says Jeff Abels, executive director of Orange County-based travel company TA2000 Inc. and SEACruises of Cerritos. “The newer generations of cruise ships are making it so the ship is the destination and the port is secondary.”

Abels says the cruising demographic has changed dramatically in the past several years, due in large part to the innovation of companies such as Royal Caribbean.
