Trumark acquires 11 acres, continued ...

"Because we will not have a Community Facility District tax, we will have a lower tax rate than other new-home developments in the area," Maples continues.

A Community Facility District (CFD) tax – or Mello Roos – allows for financing of public improvements and services, including streets, sewer systems and other basic infrastructure. A CFD is created to finance these improvements when no other source of money is available.

Trumark Homes is touted as a "new generation" homebuilding company. It targets Northern and Southern California markets, seeking distressed niches in close proximity to major job centers. The builder is the residential development arm of Danville, Calif.-based Trumark Cos.
