Tustin-based Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. is introducing two multidetector CT scan systems, the Aquilion Premium and the Aquilion CX.

Toshiba's new multidetector products, which can acquire multiple slices or sections in a scan simultaneously, will make examinations faster, safer and more relevant for medical professionals. They also offer a set of standard and advanced features that help to improve the field of medical technology.

“We developed the Aquilion Premium and the Aquilion CX to meet our customers' ever-changing medical imaging needs," says Doug Ryan, senior director of Toshiba's CT business unit.

The Aquilion Premium includes 160-detector rows and scanning coverage of up to 8 centimeters in a single rotation. The technology comes standard with a 72 kW generator and a 660-pound patient-weight couch to better accommodate larger patients.
