UC Irvine Extension offers new online courses on sustainability
‘Sustainability and Green Initiatives for Environmental Safety and Facility Professionals’ courses begin July 9

UC Irvine Extension introduced a new online course, ‘Sustainability and Green Initiatives for Environmental Safety and Facility Professionals’, designed to address a variety of corporate sustainability initiatives.
Taught by James A. Boretti — a professional with more than 21 years of safety consulting and management experience — the course will teach participants how to develop and practice programs that support corporate social responsibility, sustainability and green initiatives.
Additionally, it provides participants with an understanding of how organizations are taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on employees, customers, communities, and the environment.
“In today’s competitive business environment, individuals who understand and can lead sustainable environmental management initiatives will remain ahead of their competition,” said Dave Dimas, director of engineering, sciences and information technology at UC Irvine Extension.
Prior to the course, UC Irvine Extension will also offer a free hour-long webinar, “Environmental Management: Education Planning,” which will be held on May 17 at 11:30 a.m. The webinar will address information on upcoming courses, financial assistance and career planning resources.
Registration for the course begins on May 4. The online program runs from July 9 to August 19.
