Boretti — a professional with more than 21 years of safety consulting and management experience — the course will teach participants how to develop and practice programs that support corporate social responsibility, sustainability and green initiatives. Additionally, it provides participants with an understanding of how organizations are taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on employees, customers, communities, and the environment. “In today’s competitive business environment, individuals who understand and can lead sustainable environmental management initiatives will remain ahead of their competition,” said Dave Dimas, director of engineering, sciences and information technology at UC Irvine Extension. Prior to the course, UC Irvine Extension will also offer a free hour-long webinar, “Environmental Management: Education Planning,” which will be held on May 17 at 11:30 a.m. The webinar will address information on upcoming courses, financial assistance and career planning resources. Registration for the course begins on May 4. The online program runs from July 9 to August 19.
