This is NAIOP SoCal’s fifth year of involvement in the fellowship program, with contributions totaling $37,500. “NAIOP SoCal and the Center for Real Estate named Ottesen because he demonstrated a strong passion for pursuing and excelling at a commercial real estate career,” said Greg Blomstrand, president of NAIOP SoCal and principal managing director of American Realty Advisors. “This merit-based fellowship is designed to provide a deserving student with financial support to pursue the study of commercial real estate.” Ottesen, an undergraduate alumnus of Brigham Young University, works as an associate with the acquisitions team at Buchanan Street Partners and is a member of NAIOP SoCal. “Receiving this fellowship is both an honor and an advantage in that it will jump-start my professional real estate career in Southern California,” said Ottesen. “This is a unique opportunity. For this reason I will strive to repay the confidence and trust I was given by giving others opportunities to achieve their real estate aspirations as well.” NAIOP SoCal is a chapter of NAIOP, a commercial real estate development association, and it comprises more than 900 members serving the counties of Los Angeles and Orange. With about 14,000 members in North America, NAIOP is the leading organization for developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial and mixed-use real estate.
