Scientists will also work to point out concerns that policymakers
and industry professionals must address to fuel changes among
Californians in regard to electricity usage.
Research is
expected to include the city of Irvine and the Orange County Great
Park, according to Samuelson. Faculty and students; the National Fuel
Cell Research Center; the California Institute for Telecommunications
& Information Technology; and the Institute of Transportation
Studies will also partake in the study.
Wendell Brase, vice chancellor for administrative and business services, will oversee the project's operations.

stature of UCI serving as a living laboratory for advanced energy
research is a testament to the years of collaboration between the
engineering research and business operations of the university," he
