UC Irvine recently announced its release of its Science Information Tutorial as a part of its OpenCourseWare (OCW) initiative. UCI became the first University of California campus and first West Coast University to join the OCW Consortium. The launch of this new online program is aimed at offering participants and understanding of the fundamental process of knowledge creation in the field of applied sciences. The Web site is broken into three sections; each features different aspects of the applied sciences. The first is: Creating, Sharing and Finding Science Information, which allows students to find unique characteristics or information on specific topics. The second is Science and Engineering Sources and Resources, allowing students characterize and describe specific resources. And the third is Reading, Evaluating and Citing Information, reveals ways to cite sources and evaluate criteria.
