Ultimate Software, a Florida-based company that creates and distributes on-demand cloud-based software used for a variety of human-resource-management functions, has recently opened a new office in Santa Ana.

The new office can accommodate more than 100 Ultimate Software personnel, consisting primarily of customer support, payment services and consulting services staff. Several of the company’s executive leadership team will be working in the office as well, including John Stauffer, vice president of payment services, and Ted Malley, vice president and general manager for regional services in the Western U.S.

The office also includes a 30-person training facility used by Ultimate Software’s West Coast customers.

“Expanding our presence on the West Coast is one component of our plan to continue improving the level of service we deliver to our customers as we continue to grow our business,” said Stauffer. “By extending our services team on the West Coast, we’re excited to bring additional Ultimate resources closer to our many customers located in this part of the U.S.”

Last December, Ultimate Software was named an Optimas Award winner by Workforce Management magazine. Each year since 1991, the Optimas Awards have been presented to eight to 10 companies throughout the world to recognize HR-related efforts that directly improve business results. Other 2010 Optimas winners included Microsoft, IBM, and Infosys Technologies.
