Irvine-based VIZIO debuts Android powered tablet
The pad provides access to thousands of apps.

Irvine-based VIZIO, an LCD HDTV company, recently unveiled its Android-powered VIZIO 8-inch Tablet. The company boasts that the tablet may be priced low, yet it offers high-end features.
"VIZIO set out to build an innovative tablet that breaks new ground and addresses the gaps in current offerings in the market," said Matt McRae, chief technology officer, VIZIO.
Vizio’s newest device includes an 8-inch touch screen with a 1024 x 768 pixel display, which the firm says is ideal for watching high-definition movies and television shows. According to the company, the tablet delivers noteworthy audio, video, and application-based entertainment with its distinctive three-speaker design, built-in universal remote control app, front-facing camera and built-in WiFi abilities, among other features.
In addition, VIZIO says the gadget has space for all of your media. With 2 GB of built-in memory, it can support up to 32 GB of storage through the use of a MicroSD card.
"The VIZIO Tablet offers a superior multimedia experience with its three speaker design, home theater integration with IR, and a perfect size for typing, eBooks, gaming and portability,” said McRae.
