Local real estate veteran, founder and CEO of Newport Beach-based Voit Real Estate Services Robert Voit has been named the recipient of the 2012 RealShare Orange County Lifetime Achievement Award. Voit will be honored for his contributions to the local real estate community at the upcoming RealShare Orange County conference at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine next week.

The award honors an individual who has changed the landscape of the real estate industry in his or her local market. Voit has grown his company from a single office to several locations, managing more than 50 million square feet of commercial real estate over its more than 40-year history.

“Certain names just come to mind when talking about Orange County real estate, and Bob Voit is at the very top of that list,” said Daniel Ceniceros, vice president of Strategic Development for RealShare Orange County.

RealShare Orange County is a networking conference presented by the ALM Real Estate Media Group. Considered the largest real estate conference event for local commercial real estate professionals, the event will include panels on topics currently affecting the field. (Formerly American Lawyer Media, ALM owns and publishes news magazines and publications in a number of industries, including real estate and technology.)

Founded in 1971 as The Voit Corporation, Voit’s firm has developed a reputation as one of the leading real estate companies in the region, conducting more than $32 billion in brokerage transactions. The company has expanded over the years to add a property management division in 1973 and a commercial brokerage arm in 1987, which placed Voit among the top commercial real estate firms in the area.

Barb Rea, director of Corporate Resources for Voit Real Estate Services, credits Mr. Voit for his ongoing passion, creativity and vision, maintained throughout 40 years of owning and running a successful real estate firm. She explains that these qualities have lead to many successful projects, one example being the development of Warner Center Plaza in Woodland Hills.

“Bob’s vision transformed a previously undeveloped area into the flagship 2.9 million square-foot Warner Center Plaza and Warner Center Business Park, which transformed the West Valley in Los Angeles into a thriving upscale business workplace,” Rea said.

Mr. Voit also shows unique leadership at his firm in a passion for giving back to his community, in particular to the Boys & Girls Club organization. He is credited with a role in founding The West Valley Boys & Girls Club, and for making the nonprofit his firm’s philanthropic beneficiary.

“Because of the example set by Bob Voit, the entire team at Voit Real Estate Services remains devoted to giving back. Together we have volunteered thousands of hours and continue to collect toys and financial contributions for the Boys & Girls Club organization in each market in which Voit has office locations,” Rea said.

With seven offices throughout California, regional locations in Nevada and Arizona and plans to expand with new offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah, Voit continues to grow and establish its presence in the Western United States.

“Voit has molded the firm to meet the demands of an evolving market, and has proven that Voit Real Estate Services is a full-service solution in the commercial real estate industry,” Rea said.
