“With his passion for the brand and innate understanding of what we do, Tom is everything we want in a franchisee and the ideal person to lead us toward our growth initiatives,” says Mingo Lee, co-founder and CEO of Wahoo’s. “He understands how everything works – the unique Wahoo’s business recipe – and that makes him essential to our team.”
The move to bring Orbe into the position comes as Wahoo's embarks on its plan to add at least 100 franchise eateries in the next five years due to its overwhelming success.
The company, which specializes in eclectic Mexican-Brazilian-Asian food, expects to sign 15 franchises statewide in the fall – and the first five locations will be determined through a lottery system because of the high demand, according to Wahoo's. What's more, the company will open four franchises in Arizona – again through a lottery system – this winter.
Of course, all new shops will sport the authentic Wahoo's beach-casual theme with sticker-covered walls, and the stores will all be active in the community. Currently, there are more than 50 shops throughout California, Colorado, Texas and Hawaii, 15 of which are in Orange County. << PREVIOUS PAGE
