  • Aliso Viejo-based WePower LLC's wind energy systems have been approved by the California Energy Commission as eligible for rebate payments for residential and commercial use. The American Wind Energy Association also dubbed the company a commercially proven equipment provider.

WePower's Falcon line of Vertical Axis Wind Turbines operates in both low and high winds. The products can be used in urban, suburban and rural environments, delivering clean energy to residential, commercial, industrial and government applications.

Through the CEC's approval, consumers who install the small-wind turbines may be able to qualify for incentives under the Emerging Renewables Program. The CEC's Equipment Certification Policy requires renewable energy systems to meet standards that protect consumers from buying unreliable products. The measure helps support the growing renewable energy industry, and it also weeds out poor devices.
