![]() Fullerton-based Nutrigenetics.net aims to help you find out. The website – launched in October 2009 – is home to more than 300,000 articles covering a wide range of topics. For example, a recent report details how doctors can determine whether a cancer patient is likely to suffer adverse reactions to some drugs by examining certain genetic information. One section of the site links the public with information that is geared for the lay community, another for medical professionals and yet another for researchers. Users can search for information on health conditions, genetic testing, nutrition research and stress, among many other matters of interest. As the website notes, its a resource aimed at “bridging the gap between nature and nurture.” “Our website was built to reveal how genetics and our environment interact to affect our health, well-being and performance,” says Nutrigenetics.net Founder Ron Martin, a 35-year veteran of the nutrition and food industries. “There is a wealth of knowledge available online that can assist the public in understanding the connection between their nutrition and environment. The goal of Nutrigenetics.net is to make access to that information much, much easier.” |
