![]() So I headed to Journey Spa and Wellness Center in Orange – one of two places in Orange County offering the iinnLight Molecular Massage (the other is in Laguna Beach). There are three light programs to choose from – Facial, Blue Wave and Relief. Each one uses a different concentration of color. Hundreds of tiny bulbs flicker and pulse at varying speeds from a panel that covers the entire area of your face, showering you with blue, yellow, red and green light. The Facial bathes the skin in all wavelengths of light. It helps stimulate collagen production and is said to give people an energy boost. The red pulsing light used in Relief is supposed to ease pain and reduce stress. And the Blue Wave – which is what I tried – is intended to lift a person’s mood, heighten alertness and counter symptoms of jetlag. If you pair any of them with another treatment, the results are said to be even more remarkable. The treatment took about 30 minutes. And 10 to 15 minutes into it, I began to feel a tingling sensation – first on my face, then my hands and arms, and then my scalp. Even though I kept my eyes closed, I could see the blue light pulsing through my eyelids. And by the end of the treatment, I felt relaxed but not sleepy, and de-stressed. Next time, I plan to pair it with a more traditional spa treatment, like a facial or a massage, for even more pampering.
