Wienerschnitzel launches anniversary sweepstakes
The Irvine-based hot dog chain is celebrating its 50th birthday this year with special offers and contests.

Wienerschnitzel, the original quick-service hot dog chain, has rolled out its second annual “Cash in on a Corn Dog” sweepstakes. In the spirit of the chain’s 50th anniversary, the Irvine-based company is giving away $50,000 in cash prizes, “Wiener Bucks” and free corn dogs.
Beginning this week, guests who purchase a corn dog at Wienerschnitzel locations are encouraged to “Eat it, Read it, Win it.” Approximately one out of every five corn dogs will come with a printed stick revealing prizes ranging from a free corn dog or $5 in “Weiner Bucks.” Corn-dog sticks that are printed with a 10-digit code allow customers to enter online for a chance to win a cash prize of $500, $1,000 or $10,000.
“We view our 50th anniversary milestone as a great opportunity to have some fun with our customers and express our appreciation for the support they’ve shown us over the years,” said Tom Amberger, Wienerschnitzel’s vice president of marketing. “Combining our reputation as ‘Home of the 79-cent Corn Dog, Every Darn Day’ with exciting cash and prize giveaway opportunities is a great way to reward our loyal customers.”
