The Irvine-based nonprofit WomanSage will hold its annual conference – themed Health, Wealth, Love & Legacy – on Saturday at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa.
WomanSage aims to connect and empower women 40 years and older who are in transition. The group holds monthly discussion panels and education programs to advance professional development and improve financial literacy, among other matters.
Saturday’s event will feature an exhibition of vendors and services, including Brandman University, investment and finance experts and health-care providers. Guest speakers include six-time Olympian Anne “Grandma Luge” Abernathy and Jim Bunch, creator of the Ultimate Game of Life. The keynote will be delivered by “Love Doctor” Terri Orbuch.
A highlight of the day will be a Men of Sage auction, giving attendees an opportunity to win some private time with a cast of notable gentlemen. Among them: Orange County Register Columnist Frank Mickadeit, who promises cigars, brandy and conversation at a local restaurant of the winner’s choice; Register Theater Critic Paul Hodgins, who offers great seats at a Southern California performance; and Antonello Ristorante owner Antonio Cagnolo, who says he and his wife, Fiorella, will host a dinner party for up to six people at their home. OC METRO Editor Tina Borgatta will emcee the auction.
“We’re all about the ultimate life, and that means having fun, too,” said Jane Glenn Haas, the founder of WomanSage and a columnist for the Orange County Register. “Not only are these five men great sports, their participation helps draw attention to the issues affecting women that we address through our WomanSage philanthropies.”
