![]() “Although we are a nonpartisan bakery, we are honored to be selected as the White House favorite cookie,” said Allyson Ames, founder of Wonderland Bakery. The individually wrapped 2013 Inauguration cookies will be handed out at two evening galas and a Tuesday luncheon in Washington, D.C. The commemorative cookies can be ordered from the Wonderland Bakery website for $7.95 each, with a minimum purchase of six. According to the company, the specialty bakery became a favorite of President Obama when a celebrity client sent him a batch of sugar and gingerbread cookies in 2008. Since then, Wonderland Bakery has created and shipped thousands of cookies for the White House, including cookies for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration Gala and the Presidential Arts and Humanities Committee in 2010. These cookies, as well as the new 2013 Presidential Inaugural Gala cookie, are available for purchase online. Awards and recognitions for the bakery include honors as the 2008 California Business of the Year Award, one of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 Fastest Growing companies, and Ames herself was selected as one of Ernst & Young’s 2012 Entrepreneurial Winning Women. Wonderland Bakery has also been honored for its Major League Baseball’s Official All Star cookie and was selected by the ABC talk show The View for the Best Gingerbread Cookie in the country. “This is an exciting time in my business with the nationwide expansion of Wonderland Lifestyle Brands to include merchandising, media and entertainment properties, and I am grateful to have President Obama and The White House as fans,” said Ames.
