Newport Beach-based Wonderland Bakery has expanded its mother-daughter baking brand with a new flagship store at The Grove in Los Angeles. Up next: shops in New York, Chicago and Dallas.
It’s all part of an effort to expand Wonderland Bakery – famous for its cupcakes, cookies, cakes and artistic desserts – into a national experiential and family entertainment brand.
“Wonderland Bakery has experienced incredible brand growth over the last five years, becoming synonymous with youth activities, enjoyment and specialty baking,” said Wonderland Baker President Allyson Ames, who founded the company with her mother, Sondra.
To help achieve their goals, the mother-and-daughter team has partnered with Peter Adderton of Skycrest Ventures and Fred Goldring of Goldring Strategies to implement a new business plan that will include toys, cake mixes, baking accessories and a full range of kitchen goods.
“Other kids’ brands in the market don’t have the same organic authenticity of Wonderland Bakery, with its inspiring real-life story of a young girl’s dream being built from scratch into a nationally recognized brand,” said Goldring. “We are confident that Wonderland Bakery will readily translate into a loyal fan base on a national and international scale.”
