O.C.-based Yamaha Motor Corp. has entered into a partnership with the University of Georgia for the 2012-13 football season. The company’s outdoor power equipment division will provide the hardware and generators to power University of Georgia Athletics’ outdoor amenities and facilities during games.

The generators will be used to power various logistic apparatuses, including speakers, lights, video equipment and communication devices during the 2012-13 football season. Yamaha will also provide generators for two mobile phone charging stations that visitors and fans will be able to use.

“Partnering with an energetic and well-respected football program like Georgia’s is a powerful opportunity to prove the quality of our products,” said Elliott Schuessler, Yamaha's outdoor power equipment marketing manager. “We think fans and athletic organizers will be impressed by what they see on game day.”

As part of the deal, Yamaha will also sponsor the popular pre-game radio tailgate show, which has more than sixty affiliates.

Yamaha Motor Corporation is headquartered in Cypress, California, but has facilities in Georgia and Wisconsin and factory operations in Georgia and Tennessee. The company manufactures a wide range of products, including motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, boats and personal watercraft, snowmobiles and outdoor power equipment, and even apparel and accessories.
