Anaheim-based Yogurtland has carried over its partnership with global lifestyle brand Sanrio into 2012, making it the second year that the two companies have collaborated to launch new merchandise featuring multiple items from Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, TuxedoSam and Badtz-Maru character lines.

Available July 10 through Labor Day weekend at participating locations, Yogurtland will feature each of the four characters on biodegradable spoons and cup designs showing the Sanrio icons in the cities of Hollywood, Miami, San Francisco and Honolulu. Hello Kitty will be featured on Yogurtland items first, followed by TuxedoSam merchandise July 24, Little Twin Stars spoons and cups Aug. 7 and Badtz-Maru products Aug. 21.

“The Yogurtland and Sanrio partnership was a huge success last year, and we are thrilled to be working with such a beloved brand again this year,” said Phillip Chang, founder and CEO of Yogurtland.

Following last year’s lead, co-branded items will be offered at participating Yogurtland stores. Merchandise will include key chains, tote bags, buttons, a coin purse and a plush Hello Kitty in a Yogurtland uniform. Product prices will range from $2.50 for the tote bag to $13.50 for the plush toy.

Janet Hsu, CEO and president of Sanrio, said the partnership allows both companies to reach a similar demographic.

“Sanrio and Yogurtland speak to the same core audience and reach a loyal multii-generational fan base,” Hsu said. “This co-branded partnership allows for Sanrio’s super cute characters to reach an additional audience in a fun, family-friendly environment.”

Hello Kitty, Badtz-Maru and TuxedoSam will make an appearance at the Yogurtland Universal City location in Los Angeles to celebrate the launch. The event will take place on July 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and provide guests with the opportunity to take photos, eat free frozen yogurt and enjoy other Yogurtland items. Launch events will also take place in Miami on July 24, San Francisco on Aug. 7 and Honolulu on Aug. 21.
