Yokohama markets through football

Fullerton-based Yokohoma Tire Corp. is sponsoring NFL's Baltimore Raves and Cleveland Browns, as well as two college teams.

Yokohoma knows how to get people's attention – football. Whether it's college or pro, it's popular. And as football season descends upon us, Yokohama will launch its Home Team Pride jersey promotion, which runs through Oct. 15 and includes the UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans, as well as the two NFL teams.

For every customer who buys any four Yokohama tires, the company will give away an official replica jersey. Yokohama will also market itself through signs, displays, events, radio and TV ads and the Internet.

"America loves its football, both on the college and pro level,” says Dan King, Yokohama vice president of sales. “That’s why we’re once again sponsoring teams to help highlight our lineup of tires.”

This campaign follows the company's already successful campaigns through popular sports, such as with three NBA teams: Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors.
