Orange County's philanthropic community will gather on May 2 at the Resort at Pelican Hill for Autism Care and Treatment Today!'s annual fundraising luncheon, dubbed Fearless Women, Mothers & Daughters Moving Mountains.

The annual event seeks to celebrate mothers and daughters, and support children with autism. During the program, the nonprofit will honor local resident Becky Estepp, a mother and autism advocate; the event also will feature 21-year-old Katherine Schwarzenegger as the keynote speaker, among other special guests.

"It is important that women take time out of their busy lives to be refreshed and inspired,” said Nancy Alspaugh-Jackson, the nonprofit's executive director. “This luncheon provides the opportunity for women to celebrate their fearlessness as mothers and daughters while raising funds for families struggling to access and afford services for their children with autism."

Additionally, the luncheon will feature a silent auction, as well as a VIP and sponsor book signing with Schwarzenegger, whose new book, "Rock What You’ve Got," aims to empower women to develop healthy body images.

Tarzana-based ACT Today!, which has a local branch in Costa Mesa, provides funding to families who cannot afford or access treatment for their autistic children.

The event takes place at 10:30 a.m., and costs $150 for adults and $100 for those under 18. For more information, visit act-today.org.
