The new UltraStar Cinemas at the GardenWalk has been named the official theater venue for next month's Anaheim International Film Festival.

Slated for Oct. 13-17, the event is expected to draw some 10,000 attendees and will screen 100 films in an effort to highlight the local, national and international entertainment industry.

"We plan to deliver an unforgettable event to this region that will inspire, nurture and showcase the work of emerging independent film talent while also paying tribute to accomplished artists, said festival Chairman Sinan Kanatsiz.

He called UltraStar the "ideal" partner for the festival's inaugural year.

“UltraStar combines the excitement of Hollywood with a rich heritage of positively impacting the communities it serves," he said. "That aligns so well with the goals of the Anaheim International Film Festival."

The brand opened last month at the GardenWalk, marking its first Orange County location. The company has hosted a number of international film festivals, including events in San Diego and Riverside.

“This collaboration with AIFF is the ideal way to celebrate the opening of our first Orange County location and show support for a worthwhile cultural and educational endeavor," said Wally Schlotter, vice president of the company.

The five-day event also will feature industry workshops and panels, as well as an opening-night premiere and a red-carpet awards celebration, among other attractions.

Advanced ticket sales will be up for grabs starting Sept. 15, and the box office will open Oct. 1.
