Popular women’s apparel retailer Ann Taylor has opened several “concept” stores in New York, Miami, Dallas and Atlanta throughout 2010. The company’s grand opening at South Coast Plaza last week marked its first in this region. Many business and community leaders were on hand for the opening, including Jennifer (pictured below at left) and Anton Segerstrom (far right).
Promoted as “the new” Ann Taylor, the company says the brand defines a chic, smart, sophisticated style as seen through a modern lens and designed for how women live today.
According to the company, the concept store is intended to deliver a much more intimate shopping experience for customers. The very latest arrivals are showcased on mannequins in a runway-type setting in the middle of the store. Crystal chandeliers and proprietary lighting were brought in to crate a warm and inviting atmosphere. And while the dressing rooms feature ottomans and floral wall coverings the lounge-like dressing area features a multi-channel touch screen device that enables shoppers to easily find product information.
Shoppers got their first look at the new Ann Taylor on Friday. Five percent of Saturday’s sales were donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.
