Fountain Valley's Hyundai sees 24 percent pop in sales

The company leads among local automakers.

The January numbers are in, and some local automakers started the new year with solid upticks in sales. Fountain Valley-based Hyundai, for example, is marking its 13th consecutive month of year-over-year gains in numbers with a 24 percent jump, compared to the same time in 2009.

What's more, the firm saw the largest pop among the local companies. Irvine-based Mazda is reporting a 1.8 percent increase compared to January 2009 – and that's the third straight month of gains for the firm. Irvine-based Kia posted a small 0.1 percent increase, while Mitsubishi, located in Cypress, and Brea-based Suzuki reported declines. Here's a breakdown of the rest of the local stats:
