Judy Rose

Member NAWBO-OC; owner, Judy Rose Custom Writing & Writing Repair Services

Judy Rose writes marketing and promotional copy for clients in Southern California and across the country. Judy also polishes and adds vitality to existing copy and has created a unique service called Writing Repair, which addresses the problem of substandard business writing in a multicultural workforce.

Judy’s blog, Writing English, is widely read. She shares her philosophy on why good writing is important, offers her personal approach for businesses, and gives practical advice to aspiring writers. Judy receives comments and e-mails from readers as far away as Vietnam, India, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. Since she began writing the blog in the summer of 2006, Writing English has received over 440,000 hits.

Before starting her own business, Judy spent over 25 years with two large Japanese trading companies, handling contracts for engineered machinery. Between 1996 and 2004, she managed projects totaling about $60 million in value, coordinating a large network of subcontractors in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. In her role as the central contact person, Judy utilized her strong writing and communication skills. Team members all around the world relied on her to gather and transmit information in a way that could be understood by all, whatever their native language. This experience was instrumental in Judy’s decision to become a professional writer and writing support consultant.

As a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners Orange County chapter, Judy participates by serving on the Public Relations and Advertising Committee and on the Members in the News subcommittee. Judy also coordinates the organization’s OC METRO Business Blog. Judy was among the nominees for the 2008 Women in Business Awards sponsored by the Orange County Business Journal.

Judy Rose was raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Brooklyn College, where she earned a B.A. in music. Thoughts of becoming a professional singer were trumped by her realization that she preferred rehearsing to performing. Judy has been married to her college sweetheart, Michael, for nearly 40 years, is an avid lover of cats, and has done volunteer work for several Southern California animal welfare organizations. She resides in the South Coast Metro area.
