Irvine's BlueCava creates business advisory panel
The new committee includes executives from Facebook, HP, First Data and MasterCard, among others.

BlueCava, an Irvine-based developer of device identification technology, has created an advisory board of industry executives from a number of high-profile companies, including Facebook and MasterCard. The six members of the panel will provide expertise in several areas as they relate to their respective fields, including privacy, e-commerce, mobile payments, fraud, technology and online advertising.
"BlueCava has introduced the next-generation Web infrastructure for device identification, and this talented group of industry experts who have joined our board are an important strategic resource that will extend our leadership position in the market,” said David Norris, CEO of BlueCava. “Each board member represents a range of expertise in areas our business touches – from targeted online advertising to identifying and blocking sexual predators.”
Joe Sullivan, the chief security officer at Facebook, will bring to the board his background as a former federal prosecutor and founding member of the Justice Department’s Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property unit, a special team created by current FBI Director Robert Mueller.
Ellen Moskowitz, MasterCard’s vice president of fraud management, has joined the board as a consumer service development specialist and marketing veteran. She currently serves as the business leader for MasterCard Online Authentication, the credit card company’s 3DSecure on-behalf-of service, which is sold to banks worldwide to allow user e-commerce payment authentication.
Brian Waldman serves as vice president of marketing and strategy for Merchant Warehouse, one of the largest and fastest-growing firms in the multibillion-dollar credit card processing industry. He also works as an e-commerce strategy and search marketing consultant.
Steven Klebe, vice president of business development and strategy for BilltoMobile, holds more than 30 years of experience in sales, business development, strategic alliances and product marketing in electronic payments, authentication and fraud prevention. He has specialized in e-commerce for 18 years.
Souheil Badran, First Data Corp.’s senior vice president and general manager of e-commerce solutions, brings to the board his extensive background in the industry and leadership from former positions as president and general manager for Rebtel, and vice president and general manager of international and channel operations at VeriSign.
Russell Villemez is the vice president and account chief technology officer capability leader for Enterprise Services at Hewlett-Packard. He also has served as the chief technologist for the Americas region of HP Enterprise Services, and has held positions as partner and chief technology officer at the Feld Group, vice president and chief information officer for Weblink Wireless, and director of enterprise architecture for Sprint.
