Irvine-based production firm ChopShop will again co-produce the Action Sports Film Series for the Newport Beach Film Festival, which takes place between April 22-29.

The weeklong festival is a staple in the city, which boasts one of the largest movie consumer groups in the world. The event will showcase more than 350 films from across the globe.

This is ChopShop’s second year as co-producer of the series, which is sponsored by FUEL TV and Action Sports Group – the parent company of Surfer magazine.

The series will kick off on Friday, April 23, and will spotlight innovative independent filmmakers, athletes, visionaries, artists and designers who have shaped the vibrant action sports culture, complete with outdoor adventures and cultural journeys around the world.

In the days following the Friday evening premiere, the festival will offer filmmaker receptions, question and answer sessions, panels, as well as juried award presentations.
