![]() In total, Cox Cares gave $55,000 to CHOC and nine other finalist nonprofits. The hospital will use the funds to provide financial assistance to more than 3,000 families in need of pediatric care this year, said Tanya Lieber, vice president of the CHOC Children's Foundation. "We are happy to support CHOC, as well as all the other deserving finalists," added Gail Bongcaras, community relations manager of Cox’s Orange Coast system. "But what makes it even more meaningful is the participation of the community in deciding how to allocate the funds." Since 2000, Cox Cares has donated nearly $700,000 to more than 95 local nonprofit organizations.
