Former Disney exec to head Cedar Fair Entertainment
Matthew Ouimet announced as president of the company that manages Knotts Berry Farm

Former Disney executive Matthew Ouiment will take on a new role as the president of Cedar Fair Entertainment. The company oversees a total of eighteen amusement and water parks, including Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park. Ouimet will start immediately as president and then succeed Dick Kinzel as the CEO after his retirement in January.
"Without question, Matt is the right leader to join Cedar Fair now as it builds momentum on its renewed path of sustained, profitable growth in 2011 and beyond," said C. Thomas Harvie, independent chairman. "Throughout his career, Matt has proven to be a critical thinker … with an enviable track record for identifying growth opportunities within existing businesses in the amusement park and resort industry.”
Ouimet spent 17 years at Disney, followed by a two year stint as president of Starwood Hotels and Resorts. He currently serves as the financial and audit expert for the Board of Collecctive Brands, a $3.4 billion dollar enterprise.
