etnies, Joie de Vivre team up for eco-friendly promotion
Guests staying 3 Southland hotels –including 2 in O.C. – can take part in the action-sports brand's Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree initiative.

Lake Forest-based etnies and Joie de Vivre Hotels have partnered to bring the action-sports brand's Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree campaign to those staying at the Pacific Edge in Laguna Beach, Shorebreak in Huntington Beach and Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach.
It's an effort that seeks to raise awareness about reforestation in Costa Rica; for every pair of Jameson 2 Eco shoes purchased by guests staying at the three destinations, a tree will be planted on the Maleku reserve in the northern part of the country. Guests will receive an online code to order the eco-friendly products – made with recycled bike tires, used rubber gloves and plastic bottles – for a discounted price.
etnies launched the Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree program earlier this year to coincide with its 25th anniversary. Through the initiative, the brand has teamed up with the Maleku tribe and La Reserva Foundation to replant the rainforest. So far, etnies expects to plant at least 35,000 trees.
